Activities and tours

Beach and waterfall tour

Leave in a private lancha that leaves directly from the hotel dock, and travel along the coast to Siete Altares, a natural waterfall in the jungle.  Hike up the falls, taking a break at the 7th and last altar, or pool, to jump off the waterfall and swim in the cold water.  From there, continue up the coast by boat to visit Playa Blanca, a private beach with white sand and palm trees.  Relax the afternoon away on the beach, playing volleyball, or just laying in a hammock with a cold beer.  After a few hours on the beach, return by boat to the hotel just in time to catch the sunset. Tour leaves at 9am, and lasts 6 hours.  100Q per person, includes transportation.

Kayak rental

Gil Resort has two kayaks available for guests to rent to explore nearby attractions such as the Rio Dulce. If you’re feeling adventurous you can try kayaking all the way to the canyon at the mouth of the river or you can just paddle around the bay near the hotel.   30Q per hour.

Bike rental

Take one of the hotel’s bikes out for a leisurely tour of the streets Livingston, and fit right in with the locals as bikes are one of the main forms of transportation for most residents.  50Q per hour.

Custom tours

Gil Resort is happy to arrange private tours to visit many local attractions and has a boat available for rental.  They can take you up the Río Dulce to visit the San Felipe Castle, to many of the nearby beaches, or arrange visits to local communities such as Ak’Tenamit or the Aguas Calientes hot springs.
